Hello, my name is Magdalena, I am 18 years old and I am doing an apprenticeship as an CNC Machinist.
During my stay in the US state Georgia from mid-March to the end of April, I was able to observe and partly experience many traditions and festivals in spring. The focus was especially on the Christian holiday Easter, which has a very important religious and family meaning here.
I was also able to experience Easter traditions myself. In Savannah, I visited a park where many families were celebrating Easter. People were dressed formally, there was a large buffet with food, and everywhere in the park there were colorful plastic eggs filled with sweets hidden. The children searched for these eggs with great excitement and collected them in baskets. The atmosphere was very joyful, music was playing, and everyone seemed happy and relaxed.

Another special experience was that our teacher invited us to celebrate Easter with her. She gave us an Easter egg filled with sweets, which was a very kind gesture and showed how open and friendly people are here.

It is also noticeable that in the United States holidays are often less strictly regulated than in many other countries. Therefore, many shops remain open on Easter Sunday, and public life often continues normally. However, Easter is still consciously celebrated by many people, especially in a religious and family context.

In addition to Easter, there are many other events and traditions in Georgia in spring. In Atlanta, the Atlanta Dogwood Festival takes place, where the blooming dogwood trees are celebrated. There are art exhibitions, music, food, and many family activities in the park. In Savannah, the Savannah Music Festival is held, where different genres such as jazz, classical music, and blues are performed and many international artists take part.
Another well-known event is The Masters Tournament in Augusta, one of the most important golf tournaments in the world, which takes place every April. There are also smaller regional festivals such as the Georgia Strawberry Festival, which celebrates the strawberry harvest with parades, music, and fairground activities.
In conclusion, spring in Georgia is a very lively and diverse time. Easter in particular plays a major role and shows the religious and family traditions of the region. At the same time, music festivals, nature celebrations, and sporting events create an active and culturally rich atmosphere. My stay showed me how important community, traditions, and shared experiences are during this time.
